The Guru follows the journey of Ram Prasad Sharma (Jimmi Simpson), a struggling Indian performer who sets out to make it big in Hollywood. As a huge fan of American movies from his youth, Ram is disillusioned with the Bollywood industry and yearns for the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown. Ram's chance encounter with Maria Andrade (Heather Graham), a seductive and ambitious actress, serves as a catalyst for his dreams to become a reality.
